These Terms & Conditions govern all shipping services provided by Package Direct LLC (“we,” “our,” or “the Company”). By engaging our services, the customer (“you” or “client”) agrees to the following terms.
1. Shipping & Service Guidelines
1.1 Scope of Service
Package Direct LLC ships goods from the United States to Ghana via sea freight and air freight. This includes personal items, household goods, electronics, furniture, vehicles, and general cargo. We also aid clients in buying cars from the auctions and dealerships in the United States.
1.2 Shipping Methods & Timelines
- Sea Freight: Estimated 4–8 weeks depending on container schedule, customs clearance, and external factors.
- Air Freight: Estimated 5–10 business days.
All timelines are estimates and not guaranteed due to customs, weather, carrier delays, and port congestion.
1.3 Packaging Requirements
Clients are responsible for proper packaging unless packaging service is requested.
The Company is not liable for damage caused by poor packaging.
1.4 Tracking & Updates
Customers receive updates at key stages:
- Received at US warehouse
- Loaded onto container/flight
- Arrival in Ghana
- Clearance & final delivery (if applicable)
1.5 Prohibited Items
We do not accept:
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives
- Hazardous or flammable materials
- Illegal drugs
- Fake or counterfeit items
- Perishable food items (unless approved)
Shipping prohibited goods may result in seizure and penalties.
2. Payment & Billing Terms
2.1 Payment Requirements
- Shipping fees must be paid before dispatch of goods.
- A deposit may be required for vehicles or large shipments.
- Personal shopping purchases require full upfront payment.
2.2 Accepted Payment Methods
- Bank transfer
- Mobile Money (Ghana)
- Zelle / Cash App
- Debit/Credit card (where available)
2.3 Refunds & Cancellations
- Shipping deposits and warehouse processing fees are non-refundable once items are received.
- Refunds depend on whether the shipment has been processed or dispatched.
- Personal shopping orders cannot be refunded once placed with retailers.
2.4 Additional Fees
You may incur additional charges for:
- Warehouse storage (after the free period)
- Repackaging
- Customs duties, levies, and inspections
- Demurrage or port delays
3. Customs, Duties & Compliance
3.1 Customer Responsibility
All customs duties, taxes, levies, and clearance charges imposed by Ghana Customs are fully the responsibility of the customer.
3.2 Documentation Required
Customers may need to provide:
- Valid photo ID
- Purchase receipts or invoices
- Vehicle title (for autos)
- Power of Attorney (if we clear on your behalf)
3.3 Customs Clearance
Package Direct may assist with clearance upon request; clearance fees must be paid in advance.
Any delays caused by incomplete paperwork, inspections, or unpaid duties are the customer’s responsibility.
3.4 Demurrage & Port Charges
All port-related charges resulting from clearance delays are borne by the customer.
4. Damage, Loss & Insurance
4.1 Insurance Options
Insurance is optional but recommended.
Coverage is based on the declared value provided by the customer.
Items without declared value are transported at the customer’s own risk.
4.2 Limits of Liability
Package Direct LLC is not liable for:
- Damage due to poor packaging
- Electrical or mechanical failures
- Manufacturer defects
- Delays caused by customs, carriers, or weather
- Seizure of prohibited items
- Normal wear from international shipping
4.3 Claims Process
Claims must be submitted within 48 hours of receiving items and must include:
- Photos/videos
- Description of damage/loss
- Proof of value (receipt, invoice)
Allow 7–14 business days for investigation.
4.4 Partial Loss or Missing Items
Claims will be assessed using warehouse logs, container loading records, and weight checks.
5. Acceptance of Terms
By booking any shipment, paying a deposit, or delivering items to our warehouse, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
